Day 1 Depart today, anxious to begin your journey to northern Michigan and Dearborn. We will stop at the Cross in the Woods en route to Mackinaw City where we arrive and check in to our hotel for a two-night stay. Dinner is included this evening with time to buy some fudge in the local shops! D
Day 2 After an included breakfast you board the ferry, which will transport you to Mackinac Island for the day. You will take a narrated carriage ride of the island, then be on your way to enjoy the sights. A special highlight will be your included luncheon at the Grand Hotel! There will be time after lunch to browse the many shops on the Island. Ferry back to Mackinaw City for dinner and overnight stay. B, L, D
Day 3 After an included breakfast this morning we depart for our drive south to Dearborn. This afternoon we will spend touring the Henry Ford Museum. This uniquely American museum highlights our nation’s growth between 1800 and 1950 when the inventions of a new age transformed pastoral America into a dynamic industrial society. After checking in to our hotel, this evening you will enjoy a very special treat – a private dinner and tour at the Ford-Edsel Estate. B, D
Day 4 Breakfast is included before we spend the morning touring Greenfield Village. The story of America’s past is told with trains, planes and motorcars, a tavern, gristmill, and a one-room schoolhouse and with actual homes and workplaces of innovators such as Henry Ford, the Wright brothers, Thomas Edison, Noah Webster and Harvey Firestone. A delicious luncheon is included at the City Tavern before we depart for our return trip home. Plan to arrive back late evening after a wonderful look at America’s past and present! B, L
