Day 1 Depart early morning for a delightful drive through the southern states. Sit back and relax aboard Croswell’s Deluxe VIP motorcoach. Appropriate rest stops and lunch stop on your own will be made en route to our overnight destination. Dinner is included at a local buffet restaurant. D
Day 2 Breakfast is included. Continue south, overnight this evening in Dallas, TX area. B
Day 3 Breakfast is included at the hotel before we continue to our warm and sunny destination of San Antonio! First, a stop at The Sixth Floor Museum at the Dealey Plaza, located at 411 Elm Street. President John F. Kennedy’s life, death and legacy are chronicled at the site of his assassination. More than 400 photographs, artifacts and models are displayed on the sixth floor of the former Texas School Book Depository. A 10-minute film narrated by Walter Cronkite reviews the long-term impact of Kennedy’s death. Each person will receive an audio tour of the museum. This evening we check in to the Drury Hotel located northwest of the city. Enjoy complimentary evening beverages and snacks, along with complimentary fountain soda/fresh popcorn. This location has an outdoor pool and exercise room for your enjoyment. Dinner is included at a local restaurant. B, D
Day 4 An included hot breakfast gets you started for your day of touring. Today’s touring will include the Alamo. On the east side of the Alamo Plaza is the most famous spot in Texas where 189 defenders fell on March 6, 1836, after repeated attacks by Mexican General Santa Anna’s army. The chapel, one of the most photographed facades in the nation, and the Long Barracks are all that remain of the original fort. Long Barracks Museum and Library are near the chapel. The museum contains relics and mementos from the Republic of Texas and offers narration on the fall of the Alamo. Next stop, Market Square, browse through 32 shops at “El Mercado,” an area patterned after an authentic Mexican market. In addition there are 80 specialty shops in Farmers Market Plaza. Dinner and entertainment are included at the authentic Mexican La Margarita Restaurant located in Market Square. Return to the hotel this evening. B, D
Day 5 Breakfast is included at the hotel before departing for a visit to Mission San Jose, which was founded in 1720 and became the largest and best known of the Texas Missions. Visitors in 1777 referred to the structure as the “Queen of the Missions.” The carvings on the church are notable features. The famous “Rose Window” is considered one of the finest pieces of Spanish Colonial ornamentation in the country. Afterward we will visit the River Walk in the heart of downtown, the pride of the city. Lush green foliage lines the banks of this peaceful, historic river. Cobblestone walkways lead you to the river-level restaurants and shops. Before dinner this evening enjoy a water tour with entertaining narratives of the rich history of the San Antonio River. Dinner is included at a local River Walk restaurant. Return to the hotel for the evening. B, D.
Day 6 Another hot breakfast at the hotel is included. We begin our journey home with fond memories of a great trip. Overnight this evening in Texarkana AR. Dinner on your own en route. In Texarkana you will find a blending of two great cultures . . . where the South meets the West! B
Day 7 Breakfast is included at the hotel. Continue north to Nashville, TN, the country music capital. This evening enjoy browsing, and shopping at the Opry Mills, featuring the best names in manufacturers and retail outlets, high quality entertainment venues and themed restaurants. Dinner is included. B, D
Day 8 Breakfast is included at the hotel before we continue home. Appropriate rest stops and lunch stop on your own will be made en route. Arrive early evening back at your pick up location. B
