If you love flowers and go gaga over gardens…this tour is for you!  Each spring Macon becomes a pink cotton-spun paradise as over 300,000 Yoshino Cherry trees bloom in all their glory. Festival-lovers are treated to extravagant displays of springtime color!  Atlanta is home to one of the best Botanical Gardens in the nation, known as the “Crown Jewel” of southern gardens.  We witness 30 acres of outdoor beauty, including the Canopy walk and the Skyline Garden.  The main pathways are lined with colors of the seasons…a sight of sheer beauty. Join us this Spring and experience the wonder of Cherry Blossoms and Atlanta Blooms!

Day 1:   We depart bright and early this morning for our drive to Macon, Georgia for our two-night stay.

Day 2:   We meet our local guide to learn about the history of the Macon Cherry Blossom Festival as well as the city of Macon and what makes it so unique.  We will ride the Cherry Blossom Trail, as we sit back and enjoy mother nature’s spectacular blooms driving along in the comfort of our motorcoach!  While on the trail, our guide will point out southern mansions, streets lined with cherry trees and pink bows galore.  Along this meandering route through the historic districts of downtown, mid-town, and north Macon residential areas, we highlight the areas of Macon that are most densely populated with cherry trees like the Ingleside area, Wesleyan Woods neighborhood, and Riverside Drive.  We stop for a photo op at the former home of “The Father of Cherry Blossoms”, the late William Fickling, and Fickling Farm where the trees were propagated and distributed to residents of Macon annually.  This afternoon we tour Macon’s Historic District, including a visit to the Hay House, a National Historic Landmark also referred to as the “Palace of the South”. After our included dinner enjoy an evening of entertainment and fun at the Grand Opera House and the Stayin’ Alive Bee Gee Tribute Show!   B, D

Day 3:   This morning we will depart after breakfast and make our way to Atlanta. In Atlanta we will visit the famous World of Coca Cola as well as the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, one of the best in the nation with 30 acres of outdoor beauty and known as the “Crown Jewel” of southern gardens.  Spring is especially beautiful at the Botanical Gardens, the main pathways lined with colors of the season, a sight of sheer beauty along the Garden Promenade.  After our visit we check into the Drury Inn Marietta and enjoy the Kick-Back with hot and cold food. We relax at the hotel for the remainder of the evening. B
