Let’s Escape together from the Midwest winter weather to root for the Cincinnati Reds at their winter facility in Goodyear, Arizona! But wait…that’s not all! Sightseeing highlights will include beautiful Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon, Sandia Peak Tramway, Meteor Crater Landmark & more
Day 1: We anxiously begin our trip to the Valley of the Sun. There’s plenty of time to meet our fellow passengers as we make our way to the “Show Me” state of Missouri for our first overnight in Springfield.
Day 2: A new day dawns as we travel on through Missouri and into the state of Oklahoma. After arriving in Oklahoma City, we will visit the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum. Witness firsthand the stories of those who were killed, those who survived and those changed forever on April 19, 1995. We check into our hotel and enjoy an included get-acquainted dinner. B, D
Day 3: Breakfast is again included. Our travels today take us through the natural beauty of the southwest desert. Fertile green meadows and pine-shaded lakes come into view as we arrive in Santa Rosa, New Mexico. B
Day 4: We depart this morning for a lovely drive to Sedona. Enroute we will visit the Meteor Crater Landmark and Museum, the world’s best preserved impact site. Witness the breathtaking result of a collision that happened approximately 50,000 years ago and created a hole measuring nearly one mile across and more than 550 feet deep. We will continue to Sedona for our overnight stay. This quaint little western town, surrounded by brilliant reddish sandstone, is named one of the 10 most beautiful places in America by USA Today. B
Day 5: Nestled between the massive, fire-hued rocks of Red Rock State Park and the lush gorges of Oak Creek Canyon, nature’s beauty surrounds us today. We will visit the iconic Chapel of the Holy Cross, constructed in the 1940’s. This afternoon, we will travel to Phoenix and check into our Drury Inn hotel for a relaxing and enjoyable 4-night stay. Enjoy the Kick-Back reception at the hotel which includes hot and cold menu options and beverages. Enjoy your “home away from home” for the next few days and nights! B
Day 6: Breakfast is included before a guided highlights tour of the Phoenix area. Then, it’s game time as we root for our Reds team. B
Day 7: Enjoy another day at the ballpark rooting for the Reds! We have also included a visit to the famous Heard Museum, a museum of native cultures and art. Among the exhibits in its 10 galleries are contemporary, historical materials of Southwestern Native Americans, basketry, jewelry, pottery and Kachina dolls! B
Day 8: Today, enjoy the hotel at your leisure, basking in the warm Arizona weather! Tonight, we will enjoy our last Reds game! B
Day 9: We bid farewell to Phoenix and set our sights for Albuquerque. Upon arrival we will view one of America’s most stunning urban peaks aboard the Sandia Peak Aerial Tramway. We ascend to the top of the Sandia Mountain where an 11,000 square mile panoramic view awaits. Dinner is included when we return to the bottom of the mountain. B,D
Day 10: Breakfast is included at the hotel before departing for our continued journey towards home. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the wonderful countryside. We will enjoy an overnight stay in Clinton, OK, where dinner will be included. B,D
Day 11: This morning after breakfast we will visit the famous Route 66 Museum. Exhibits begin with “The World’s Largest Curio Cabinet,” home of special treasures collected from along the route. An audio tour written and narrated by Michael Wallis, author of Rt. 66: The Mother Road, will guide you through six decades of Rt. 66 history. After our visit we will set our sights for our overnight stay in Springfield, MO. B
Day 12: Breakfast will be included before beginning our final day of traveling together. As we say goodbye to our friends, we return home with memories of the awe-inspiring beauty of the desert Southwest and the Cincinnati Reds! B
