Everyone loves a train ride and the autumn scenery in the mountains of West Virginia will not disappoint! Spectacular scenery will amaze you as we wind through the mountains of West Virginia on this fall favorite tour. Day 1: We head to wild, wonderful West Virginia, high up in the mountains where you can find the headwaters of eight different rivers, waterfalls, and scenery that is spectacular. This afternoon we will check in to an Elkins area hotel for our two-night stay. Enjoy a wonderful dinner, then sit back, and listen to the fabulous Mountain Memories Show Band as they serve up a 2-hour Branson-style show with music from the 50’s to today featuring Country, Pop, Motown, Gospel and Patriotic along with family-friendly comedy and amazing dancers. Day 2: Breakfast is included before our railroad adventure. Then it’s ALL ABOARD the smooth climate-controlled passenger train with a reputation as one of the most exciting mountain wilderness excursion rides in the US. The 4-hour, 46-mile round trip features two separate mountain grades, an “S” curve tunnel, and passage into a 1,500 ft. deep canyon with steep, densely forested slopes. Lunch is included on board. Tonight, we return to the Gandy Dancer Theatre. We will enjoy different entrée selections and an entirely different show! Tonight’s amazing show features performers paying tribute to such musical legends as Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, John and June Cash, Elvis and many more. B, L, D
Day 3: Breakfast is included at the hotel before our departure. This morning we will travel the scenic highways to Green Bank, WV. We will include a guided tour of the Observatory site to learn about the fascinating world of radio astronomy. Plan to arrive this evening with memories of a great time spent in Musical, Mountainous West Virginia! B
