2 Days - 1 Night - 1 Meal – 1 Kickback

Don’t miss the bus on this fun little two-day getaway to central Kentucky.  Did you know that every Corvette made in the world today is produced in Bowling Green?  Or that from the time man first took flight, to the recent shuttle missions into space, Kentucky has played a significant role in the history of aviation? We’ll also learn about the history and heritage of Kentucky’s railroads and climb aboard restored railcars as stories unfold of a slower-paced era when railroad travel was a way of life.  Join us, along with your family and friends, as we enjoy Planes, Trains and Automobiles in Kentucky!

Day 1:   We’ll depart this morning for our drive to Bowling Green.   Our first stop is Chaney’s Dairy Barn where we’ll see life down on the farm. This farm tour includes a wagon ride to the barn, the robotic milking demonstration, and a scoop of ice cream in a cup.  Next, we will visit the National Corvette Museum.  As you tour the museum you will discover why the Corvette is “America’s Sports Car”.  From the early classics to late model Vettes, you’ll be immersed in the history and beauty of this automobile icon.  Late this afternoon we will check into our hotel, the Drury Inn.  Enjoy the kick-back reception and unwind from the day.  Ice Cream, KB

Day 2:   After we fuel up with breakfast, we will depart for Aviation Heritage Park. This park is a memorial to the distinguished aviators who have called South Central Kentucky home.  There, we will also visit the “new” Aviation Heritage Park Museum featuring cutting edge, interactive, and educational displays telling the stories of significant south central Kentucky aviators. Next, it’s “All Aboard!” to the Historic Rail Park and Train Museum.  Housed in the 1925 L&N Depot, the Museum features vintage equipment and artifacts that reveal the history and heritage of Kentucky’s railroads.  Climb aboard the restored railcars that include the E-8 Engine, Presidential Office Car, the Duncan Hines Dining Car, a luxury Pullman Sleeper and 1921 Post Office Car.  Our final stop before returning home is Swope’s Cars of Yesteryear Museum. This museum has an impressive collection of all makes and models from the 1900’s – 1960’s.  Arrive home this evening anxious to tell our friends and family about the transportation attractions we have seen in just two days together!
