Don’t miss the bus on this fabulous fall tour. A “picture perfect” journey aboard the Algoma Railroad will wind through the Agawa Canyon and leave you breathless. A ferry ride will transport you to Mackinac Island for the day with a luncheon at the Grand Hotel. Two-night stays in Sault Ste Marie and Mackinaw City make this a relaxing yet spectacular fall tour to remember…and don’t forget a stay in Little Bavaria and so much more!
Day 1: Depart bright and early this morning for our journey north to Mackinaw City. We will check into our hotel for our two-night stay. Dinner can be enjoyed at one of several local favorites.
Day 2: Breakfast is included this morning before boarding the ferry, which will transport you to Mackinac Island for the day. Enjoy a narrated carriage ride of the island. A special highlight will be your included luncheon at the Grand Hotel! Following lunch, spend time on your own exploring the Island. We will return to Mackinaw City late afternoon. B, L
Day 3: Breakfast is included before departing for northern Michigan, crossing over into Sault Ste. Marie. Today we will enjoy a guided cruise through the Soo Locks. The Soo Locks are a remarkable feat of engineering and human ingenuity that connect Lakes Superior and Huron. Then it's on to your hotel for our two-night stay. Enjoy dinner on your own, then get ready for our train adventure tomorrow. B
Day 4: Get ready for an early morning! It’s well worth the effort as you depart for the Agawa Canyon Train Ride. Let’s climb aboard for a travel experience that will leave you breathless. There are many words that can be used to describe Northern Ontario’s rugged beauty: awe-inspiring, astonishing, and inspirational are just a few. As the Agawa train pulls to a stop at mile 114, you’ll have an hour and a half to experience the jewel of the tour – Agawa Canyon Park, which is only accessible by rail. Through a GPS triggered commentary you will learn stories of the region and points of interest as well as some of the rich history of the Ojibway, fur traders, explorers and entrepreneurs that opened this vast wilderness. Lunch will be included aboard the train. We’ll return to the hotel after our breathtaking journey through the scenic Agawa Canyon, truly a train ride to remember! B, L
Day 5: After our included breakfast, we depart for Frankenmuth, Little Bavaria. It’s known for being nostalgic, yet new. We’ll include a guided tour upon arrival and a delicious dinner will be enjoyed at the delightful Bavarian Inn. This evening, check into our local hotel. B, D
Day 6: Following breakfast, we will spend our morning at Bronner’s Christmas Store. Plan to arrive home this evening with stories and memories to share about your Michigan and more adventure. B
